Large companies are required to inform us of their payment terms
From 1 July 2023, Swedish companies with more than 249 employees must report their payment terms for purchases from companies that are smaller than themselves. This affects approximately 1,500 companies. The information will be made public and available to anyone who wishes to access it.
Three months to report
Companies must report
- once a year between 1 July and 30 September
- information relating to invoices paid from 1 July to 30 June.

In order for a company to compile its payment terms, it must first obtain information about the size categories of the suppliers it uses. Once the company has done this and compiled its payment terms, it submits this information to us via the digital service. It costs nothing to submit the required reporting.
Background
On 1 March 2022, a law on reporting payment terms came into force. The reporting will start on 1 July 2023. Companies subject to the law must subsequently submit their reporting once a year. The purpose of the reporting is to break the trend towards increasingly lengthy payment terms in the business sector and create as good conditions as possible for smaller Swedish companies to develop and grow.
