Mandatory submission of annual reports to Bolagsverket for associations
Starting from financial years beginning on or after January 1, 2025, economic associations (co-operative societies) must publish their annual reports by submitting them to Bolagsverket.

Inga Otmalm appointed new Director General of the Swedish Companies Registration Office
The Government has appointed Inga Otmalm as the new Director General of the Swedish Companies Registration Office. This was announced by the Minister for Energy, Business and Industry, Ebba Busch, on a visit to the Swedish Companies Registration Office in Sundsvall on Wednesday, 27 September.

Large companies are required to inform us of their payment terms
From 1 July 2023, Swedish companies with more than 249 employees must report their payment terms for purchases from companies that are smaller than themselves. This affects approximately 1,500 companies. The information will be made public and available to anyone who wishes to access it.

New rules for cross-border mobility within the EU
New rules on intra-EU company mobility are proposed to enter into force on 31 January 2023. The proposal amends the rules on cross-border mergers, and introduces rules on cross-border demerger and cross-border conversion.

Large companies must report their payment terms
As of 1 March 2022, companies with more than 249 employees are obliged to report the payment terms they have with subcontractors. The first reporting to the Swedish Companies Registration Office will take place between July and September 2023.

New rules for limited companies and branches of foreign companies beginning on 1 August 2022

Temporary law to make it easier to hold general meetings
On 3 April 2020, the Swedish Parliament passed a new temporary law to make it easier to hold general meetings in companies and associations when there is a high spread of COVID-19. The new law was in force until 31 December 2021. The Swedish Parliament has now decided to impose the law again. It will enter into force on 1 March 2022 and will remain in force for the rest of 2022.

Changed fees from 1 December 2021
Following a proposal (a request) from us at the Swedish Companies Registration Office, the Swedish Government has decided to change a number of our registration fees. These new fees will take effect on 1 December 2021.
