Small companies may choose not to have an auditor
On 21 June 2010 the Swedish Parliament, Riksdagen, decided that small companies should be able to choose not to have an auditor. The changes of the Companies Act will take effect as of 1 November 2010.

Swedish Patent Attorneys Board – a new authority with the registrar's office at Bolagsverket
On 1 July 2010 the Government decided to establish a new authority – Swedish Patent Attorneys Board – which will manage the authorization and supervision of patent attorneys.
The Government proposes voluntary audit
The Government has decided to submit a proposal to the Council on Legislation regarding the abolition of the compulsory audit for approximately 250 000 private limited liability companies.
Requirement of share capital in limited companies will be lowered to 50 000 kronor
The Government has decided to lower the requirement of the size of the share capital in private limited companies from 100 000 kronor to a minimum of 50 000 kronor. The decision comes into force on 1 April 2010.
